A Meriden resident has been working “tirelessly” to bring humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Peter O’Grady, known to many as ‘Para’, has led the Garston-based foodbank Food for All for many years and is now working alongside others to bring humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Para has travelled to and from Ukraine numerous times to help set up kitchens on the eastern border.
More than 100 vehicles have been donated to the charity through the Ultra Low Emission Zone scrappage scheme. These vehicles will be used to transport food, medicine and clothes to those in need.
Meriden councillor Annalisa Buraglio Molteni met with Para on Friday, July 26, to thank him for his hard work and dedication to the cause.
She said: “He has set a brilliant example for the kind of community commitment that all Watford citizens should strive for.”
