The cricket season has now begun in earnest, with Abbots Langley Cricket Club currently getting into the swing of things.
Several new developments have taken place during the off-season, such as the complete rebuilding of the club’s practice nets at their base in Gallows Hill Lane, allowing players of all abilities to use the equipment to hone their skills.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, the club’s senior sides have expanded. Four teams are now being fielded across the four divisions in the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League, as well as a women’s side now playing on Sundays.
In the junior division, teams of all ages continue to compete in the Hertfordshire Junior Cricket Leagues, and the club is now involved in running the All Stars and Dynamo programme, focused on introducing young residents to the rules of the game.
ALCC secretary Mark Bishop said: “If you would like to get involved in a friendly and inclusive cricket club, please come along one weekend and meet us.
“We would be delighted to welcome new members at all levels of playing ability or just social members.”
