STRONG FOUNDATION: Housing company wins two awards for its ‘dedication’ to community in Watford

Published on: 16th January 2026   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Watford Community Housing recently received two significant health and safety management awards from the British Safety Council: the Sword of Honour and the Not-for-Profit Sector Award.

The Sword of Honour goes to organisations demonstrating high standards across operations, from governance to frontline activity. This prestigious award followed an assessment of staff safety and risk management.

Representatives were presented with a physical sword at a British Safety Council ceremony, where the organisation also received the Not-for-Profit Sector Award.

The British Safety Council states that only a limited number of organisations meet the criteria for both awards.

Watford Community Housing is among a small number of housing providers to receive this level of recognition.

Sarah Edwards, Corporate Governance and Health and Safety Manager, said: “It is the collaboration between staff, residents and contractors that helps us to achieve the highest standards of health and safety management.

“Going forward, we will continue to build on this strong foundation, learn from best practices, and drive excellence in health and safety at Watford Community Housing.”
