STRIVE SUPPORT: Bushey parent support group returns after receiving council funding

Published on: 7th September 2021   |   By: Lizzie Ellis   |   Category: Uncategorized

A community support group in Bushey established three years ago has reopened after closing due to COVID.

The Strive Parent Support Hub has recently received funding from Hertsmere Borough Council and is now back and ready to support the community.

Strive is a not for profit organisation, founded by two local mums to provide support with the challenges of parenting.

They also specialise in addressing Special Educational Needs. Rebecca Walsh and Samatha Carey set up the group in 2019 after realising there was limited support for parents of children with additional needs.

Rebecca told BusheyNews: “It can be quite isolating for parents to deal with additional needs on their own. We knew there was a need in the community for this sort of service to help inform parents and provide workshops from professionals. We are now also offering guidance on the anxieties that surround COVID.”

Strive is located at Sacred Heart Church Hall on London Road, opposite Bushey Academy and is ready to provide information, guidance and a friendly ear over tea or coffee every Tuesday morning between 9.30-11.30am.
