STRIKE A POSE: Photojournalist unites Rickmansworth High Street with business portraits

Published on: 19th November 2020   |   By: Geraint Roberts   |   Category: Uncategorized

A photojournalist in Rickmansworth has been using lockdown to come up with an initiative to bring businesses on the High Street together by taking photos of them outside their shop.

Suzanne Plunkett, who has been living just off the High Street for more than two years, found herself with little to do as a result of the second lockdown and thought she would use it to do something constructive for the community.

Suzanne has been all across the world as a photojournalist, having been in Afghanistan and was also in New York on the day of 9/11.

Speaking to RickyNews, Suzanne said: “I love the High Street in Rickmansworth and thought this could be a good way of getting everyone together and help unite everyone during these difficult times. I put all the information on how you can support the businesses on Instagram with the picture, so it helps them too.

“I’ve got a lot of good feedback from the community and it’s great to see everyone supporting each other. I think business owners are being so resilient during the second lockdown and the feeling is a lot different compared to the first one.

“I have a few ideas and plans for what I’m going to do once I’ve finished taking all the photos, but for now I’m just concentrating on getting them done. I do think it would be nice to piece them all together once it’s finished.”
