A man has been jailed for 16 weeks after turning up at Cheryl Tweedy’s home in The Chalfonts on December 10, 2024.
Daniel Bannister, 50, of no fixed address, admitted to harassment, breaching his restraining order, and attempting to breach his restraining order.
He had previously been jailed for four months after targeting the singer twice in 2024.
At the sentencing, District Judge Arvind Sharma also imposed an indefinite restraining order, replacing Bannister’s existing three-year restraining order.
Cheryl Tweedy, of Girls Aloud and The X Factor fame, moved to Buckinghamshire shortly after splitting from One Direction star Liam Payne in July 2018. Liam Payne tragically passed away in October last year after falling from a balcony.
In an unrelated case in 2012, Bannister was jailed for killing Rajendra Patel, 48, at a homeless shelter.
Mr Patel died of a pulmonary thromboembolism, a product of a fractured ankle in the attack. Bannister was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Kingston Crown Court, after admitting manslaughter.
