A man has been charged in connection with a burglary which happened in Bricket Wood and with possession of Class A drugs (heroin) following a St Albans Local Crime Unit investigation.
Frank Donoghue, 40, of no fixed address, was arrested on Wednesday, May 25. He has now been remanded into custody and is set to appear a St Albans Crown Court on Monday, June 27.
The burglary took place on the morning of Saturday, February 12, where a woman in her 90s awoke to find an unknown man in her bedroom, purporting to be a window cleaner. The woman ably challenged the man before chasing him out of the property.
Attending the scene afterwards, officers recovered a number of items inside a discarded bag, including drug paraphernalia and a serrated knife.
