National reports have been covering floods, cancelled flights, service cuts and rescheduled events as Storm Ciara dominates the country – but how exactly is it affecting your area?
Here’s a roundup of how some of the areas we cover in Hertfordshire are being affected (UPDATES ONGOING):
Stanmore: A crane at a residential development near Stanmore Station has been severely damaged, causing it to partially snap. Merrion Avenue has been closed while the London Fire Brigade deal with the situation.
Hemel Hempstead: Wind has damaged a trolley shed at Tesco Extra in Jarman Way (pictured) with trolleys blown across the car park.
A road has been closed at the top of Box Lane due to a collapsed tree, while also reportedly fell near a roundabout by Aldi, on London Road, Hemel.
Hyde Lane, Nash Mills was closed due to a fallen tree blocking the road this morning but it has since reopened.
Radlett & Shenley: A tree has reportedly fallen into the road on Radlett Lane leaving Shenley towards Radlett and the left lane is blocked. A tree was also blown down in The Warren, but has since been removed.
A small tree also fell on London Road, Shenley and has been reported to Highways.
Chorleywood: A tree has reportedly fallen on Burtons Lane between Chorleywood and Little Chalfont, completely blocking the road.
Watford: Officers are dealing with a large tree that is blocking Hempstead road near The Grove and have warned drivers to avoid the area until further notice.
