STAR JUMPER: Radlett resident becomes world record holder at age seven

A seven-year-old Radlett resident has broken the Guinness World Record for the most star jumps in a minute by a person aged 16 or under.

After Sienna Simmons realised in a PE lesson that she could do star jumps very quickly, her dad Paul contacted Guinness World Records.

On her very first attempt on Friday, February 21, Sienna beat the previous record with ease, with a whopping 92 star jumps in one minute.

Sienna’s new record was almost 40 per cent higher than the old record, which had been set by someone who was double Sienna’s age at the time.

Speaking to RADLETTnews, Sienna’s mum Gabby Simmons and dad Paul told RADLETTnews: “She’s the only person I’ve ever known that has had a world record, and to do it by age seven is unbelievable. She did so many star jumps that I was amazed.

“She’s so humble, and I’m really impressed, amazed and proud. It’s all off her own back.”

Now aged eight years old, Sienna is an athletically gifted child, playing football, netball, swimming and even doing gymnastics.

She said: “I love being active and pushing myself to do my best. I never imagined I’d break a world record, but I’m so happy I did it!”

Mrs Lobo, headteacher at Sienna’s school, Manor Lodge School, said: “Sienna’s accomplishment is inspiring to children to stay active and dream big – proof that with focus and enthusiasm, setting new records is possible.”
