GIVING BACK: Kings Langley gym’s charity triathlon raises £6,000 in honour of beloved member

A Kings Langley gym raised £6,000 for charity after hosting their first ever triathlon event in honour of one of their members.

JJK Fitness hosted the triathlon event on June 26 to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, South Herts Branch.

The gym has previously raised over £20,000 for the charity but this event was extra special honouring member David Davies’ 60th birthday.

Over 50 members started at Denham Lake for the open water swim, then cycled to JJK Fitness and then completed a run around Kings Langley to support David who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019.

A spokesperson for JJK Fitness said: “It’s the first Triathlon we have hosted with over 50 participants, and it was very successful raising over £6,000 for MND”

“Davis Davies is one of our members and now a close friend who was diagnosed with MND in 2020”

“JJK Giving Back raised over £26,000 in 2020 and will continue to help support local charities in 2021.”

JJK are also planning to host another charity event in August with the date to be confirmed.
