Hospital consultant surgeon Anthony McGrath will be jailed today (Thursday) at 2pm having been found guilty yesterday evening of mortgage fraud and an insurance scam.
Dr McGrath, 46, who was based at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore was told he will face a jail term that will be “measured in years” when he is brought back to court to be sentenced today.
He was remanded in custody last night after the verdicts.
Wife Anne-Louise was found not guilty of all the charges she faced.
The couple live in St Albans.
