St Albans Folk Festival returns this summer

St Albans Folk Festival will be returning to the city this June, bringing dancing and music to the centre and nearby venues.

The festival will be held between June 15 and June 17.

The festival begins on the Friday evening with an open evening hosted by Friday Folk social dance group.

The main events will take place on the Saturday. During the day there will be dancing in the city centre, free performances in local pubs and venues and workshops in the Maltings Arts Theatre.

In the evening, there will be a festival concert featuring nationally known guest performers, The Dovetail Trio and Granny’s Attic. Tickets are now on sale for the concert, which begins at 7.45pm.

On the Sunday, informal music will be made at the Robin Hood in Victoria Street.

Tickets for the festival concert are priced at £14, £13 for students and £10 for under 18s. They are available on the door or online in advance at www.maltingsartstheatre.co.uk/event/folk-the-dovetail-trio-grannys-attic, by phone on 0333 666 3366 or in person at St Albans Central Library.
