A St Albans schoolgirl is living her dream as a West End star as she will play the part of a famous singer in a new premier show later this year.
12-year-old, Emily Perra, will play the part of a young Gloria Estefan in the musical On Your Feet which hits the London Coliseum from June 14 to August 31.
Emily, who goes to school at Loreto College, has been described by her mum, Claudia, as a “very easy going girl with the right personality for the industry.”
Claudia added: “She adapts really easily and is very lively. She loves acting, singing and dancing and she makes me so proud.
“At such a young age she is going to be in a West End show. She has done shows before locally but this is the start for her and she deserves it.”
Claudia said she realised Emily was destined to be on stage since she was a little girl.
She said: “She has been interested since she was young in theatre but I could tell when she was little that she would be very good on stage, performing and singing.
“Everyone in the family, including Emily, is really excited to see her. I don’t think she understands how big this actually is but she is looking forward to meeting up with the cast in the next couple of days and then performing in Leicester and then in London in the summer.”
Emily was one of three that was chosen out of 60 girls that auditioned for the part.
