A Radlett schoolboy is riding high after storming to victory in this year’s county squash championships.
Sam Sturmer, who is in Year 6 at Radlett Preparatory School, is now the Under 11 champion in the Hertfordshire County Championships. He claimed victory following his fantastic performance in a tournament at Radlett Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (RLTSC) on Saturday, September 14.
This makes Sam the county champion for two years in a row, having previously won the Under 9 competition last year. This win came only a month after he first started playing the sport at RLTSC’s summer sessions.
Squash isn’t the only activity in which the young sporting superstar excels. Sam is also an avid player of table tennis and regularly competes in tournaments and training at the Eli Baraty Academy of Table Tennis in London.
Earlier this year, he made it into the final 16 at the Under 11 National Table Tennis Championships.
