Tributes have been paid to Kings Langley resident and avid perfumer John Bailey, who sadly passed away last month.
John, who founded the Perfumers Guild in 1981, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, after a short illness.
His family is inviting those who knew John to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
Alex Bailey-Staines , one of John’s daughters, said: “He was one in a million. We are devastated, while also recognising how fortunate we were to have him in all of our lives for as long as we did.
“We would love as many friends as possible to join us for a Celebration of the Life of JB.”
If you would like to pay your respects, there will be a service at West Herts Crematorium on High Elms Lane at 2pm on Thursday, March 23. This will be followed by a celebration at John’s favourite jazz club, the Kings Langley Services Club on Hempstead Road.
The dress code requires attendees to wear a splash of pink.
The family has asked for anyone planning to attend to let them know in advance.
Also, the family would love it if you have any memories, stories or photos you would like to share, please send them to alexbaileystaines@gmail.com
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Hospice of St Francis, who helped care for John. You can donate here.
