SPEAK UP: Residents invited to propose improvements for village centre

Published on: 24th May 2022   |   By: Holly Bullen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Abbots Langley residents have the opportunity to have their say on improvements that could be made across the village centre.

The Abbots Langley Parish Council has been granted funding to create a Village Centre Masterplan, which will set out required improvements for the village centre.

This is part of the council’s project to put together the Neighbourhood Plan which they hope to be completed by the end of summer.

Peter Warman, chair of the Abbots Langley Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, said:” We have Government funding to create a Village Centre Masterplan and a team from AECOM Planning Consultants to help us coordinate our efforts.

“We want to preserve the local character of the Village Centre while suggesting improvements to ensure the shopping centre is vibrant and community facilities improved.

“An urgent need is to find a site to develop a new expanded NHS Health Centre that caters for a wider range of services for local primary health care. Hopefully this can be available by 2026.”

In June, as part of the Abbots Langley Festival, the council will be holding two evening workshops with an exhibition.

The events start at 7:30pm on June 20 and 22, at the Manor House (Venue Location 8). These evenings will provide residents the opportunity to propose improvements to the village centre.
