A Chorleywood care home’s resident ambassador is heading to the final stages of a national competition.
Born in 1929, Harold moved to Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home in 2017 and was nominated as the resident ambassador in 2018. His role is to voice the views of residents, support tasks such as resident meetings, and meet visitors looking for a home for their loved ones.
The prestigious Barchester Care Awards are organised by Barchester Healthcare to celebrate staff who go the extra mile.
Harold has been selected for his achievements in supporting his fellow residents. After winning the Barchester divisional award, he is now through to the national finals later this month.
Harold said: “Well, what can I say? It was a complete surprise to be nominated, let alone get through to the finals! It’s a bit of a fuss really. I just really enjoy getting to know everyone and meeting lots of interesting people.”
