SMARTIE CHALLENGE: Bedmond Brownies raise money for centre’s accessibility improvements

Published on: 20th January 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Bedmond Brownies have raised £124.20 for a campaign to make the Hertfordshire Guide Centre (HGC) near Buntingford more accessible and inclusive.

To raise the money, the Brownies completed the Smartie challenge. Each girl was given a tube of Smarties to take home and enjoy, then challenged to fill the empty tube with 20p coins by completing jobs around their home.

A spokesperson for Girlguiding Hertfordshire said: “Thank you to Bedmond Brownies who have taken on the Smartie challenge and raised £124.20 for the HGC fundraising campaign!

“The building works may have started, but we still need your help to raise the money to fund the next phase! Why not do some fundraising in your units to support this cause?”

The huge fundraising project aims to give HGC a new lease of life, bring it up to date, and ensure that it is accessible and inclusive for everyone.

The fundraiser is hoping to reach £300,000. To donate, head to www.shorturl.at/TVLn1
