A reckless driver has been photographed stuck in the mud after attempting to drive on the grass to get around roadworks at a junction in Radlett.
The vehicle was left abandoned in the middle of the grass verge at the junction between Loom Lane and New Road, where signs in the area reportedly say gas repair works were taking place.
The image of the car stuck in the mud was shared on Facebook on Tuesday, January 7.
The post said: “The junction at the top of Loom Lane and New Road is closed due to gas repair works, as per the various signs.
“A polite request and warning not to decide to cut across the verge rather than turn around or follow the diversion signs, as not only will you cut up the grass and create tyre tracks but you will also get stuck in the mud and likely need towing out, as this motorist has unfortunately found out – with little sympathy from passers by.”
At the time of writing, there is no record of the roadworks on Causeway. Hertfordshire County Council has been contacted for comment.
