Following a full calendar of competitive running last year, it was the Abbots Tough Ten which united the village in October 2025, as seen in the ABBOTSnews November edition.
A presentation evening in November formally concluded the 2025 event and saw cheques awarded to 12 deserving organisations across Abbots Langley village and the surrounding area.
The race raised a whopping £9,500, and the funds were distributed to organisations across the village including Abbots Langley Orchestra, Abbots Langley Toddler Group, The Monday Club, The Vets Club, Breakspeare School, Abbots Langley School, Divine Saviour School, Midshires Search and Rescue, The Crafty Ladies for The Starfish Ward appeal, Abbots Langley Careers Network, Abbots Langley Getting Together and Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care (RGPHC).
The donation to RGPHC had a poignant significance, as it was made in memory of John Warner, a long-standing member of the Abbots Tough Ten team.
In addition, Chris and Jo Bromwich and Marian Campbell were awarded the annual Award of Recognition to the Community.
A spokesperson for Abbots Tough Ten said: “Chris, Jo and Marian have worked tirelessly on projects within our lovely community for many years and truly deserve to be recipients of the trophies.
“As ever, the Tough 10 team express their sincere thanks to all the volunteers and local organisations who support the Tough 10 Race each year.”
Race enthusiasts can prepare to tie their shoelaces as the annual race returns to the village on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
