Edgware Cricket Club (ECC) have recognised the “significant contributions” of Ciaran Hosty and Raj Parmer, who have been inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame as part of their 2024 cohort.
The Edgware Cricket Club Hall of Fame was created in 2021 to pay tribute to Dharmish Bhatt, whose sad passing left “an enormous hole in the club”, according to ECC. Since then, the Hall of Fame has continued to celebrate players who have made significant contributions to the club both on and off the field.
ECC chairman Ciaran was part of the initial squad who played for the club when it first started in July 2015. Raj became the 19th player to play for ECC when he made his debut against Monken Hadley on September 13 of the same year.
Ciaran has scored more than 5,000 career runs, including five hundreds, and he has taken over 70 outfield catches, all of which are club records. With over 150 appearances for ECC, he remains the most capped player in the club’s history.
Raj has also been a key part of the Edgware side, which has been promoted seven times in the last decade. He has the best bowling record of anyone on his debut, taking 4/9 in his first game for the club against Monken Hadley.
The pair follow on from Jude Saverus, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame after he retired in 2022 following his efforts to develop the club early on. In 2023, club captains Sajith Sriwickramasekaran and Nakul Jilka were both inducted.
