Thousands of pounds of drugs have been taken off St Albans streets following information from members of the public.
Joe Cox, 21, from Ladies Grove, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs following a drugs warrant conducted by the Operation Scorpion team in Ladies Grove on Tuesday 1 October. He pleaded guilty and has been remanded in custody.
Gavin Sadler, 19, from St Albans, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.
A 35-year-old man from St Albans was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs on King Harry Lane. He was released on police bail whilst enquiries continue. Thirty bags of cannabis and 15 wraps of class A drugs were seized.
St Albans District Chief Inspector Martin Turpin said: “These are significant arrests in taking drugs off the streets in St Albans. You may not see a result straight away, but please be reassured that we do act on the information you provide.”
A report published on the St Albans City & District Council website found that the number of drug possession offences in St Albans decreased by 26.5 per cent from July to September 2024.
