A film shot in Watford, Radlett and Borehamwood has been nominated in the Cannes Film Awards.
Cookster: The Darkest Days made its debut on Amazon Prime Video last month, following its nomination for the Indie Feature Film Award at the prestigious awards.
Film producer and writer Jason Cook based the film on his own personal struggle with dyslexia and becoming involved in gang violence.
As well as choosing local actors to star in the film, Jason also worked with local composers and artists to bring the story to life.
Working alongside American band The Midnight, co-producer Louise was asked to write and produce a song for the film.
Her song, Point Of View (POV), took two days to complete and was recorded at Sanctuary Studios in Watford. Louise explained to WATFORDnews that it was written from the perspectives of three characters from the film.
She said: “I feel very honoured to have been asked to be part of such a great line-up of musical talent.
“Music has been something I have been part of right from a very young age. Singing was a massive part of my childhood and teenage years, attending Stagecoach Performing Arts school and learning to express emotions through this medium.
“It wasn’t until I was in my early 20s that singing then evolved into songwriting, and I discovered the ability to make full songs.”
