SHOCK CLOSURE: Rickmansworth schools affected by coach company closure

Published on: 16th January 2020   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

A coach company that provided services to schools in Rickmansworth and Chorleywood has announced its sudden closure.

On Monday January 6, Peter Reynolds Coaches updated their website, informing customers that services would no longer be operating due to family matters.

They apologised for the sudden unavoidable closure, which was due to the ill-health of the owner, Pamela Reynolds.

The private company operated bus services across four schools: The Reach Free, Rickmansworth, St Clement Danes and St Joan of Arc, who have all been informed of the position.

Talks are in place with several bus companies to replace existing routes covered by Peter Reynolds.

The council are working alongside Peter Reynolds and the affected schools to provide an effective solution with no breaks to the service.

Peter Reynolds told the council that all monies owed will be refunded or transferred to the new operator.

An update from councillor Phil Williams said: “Hertfordshire County Council are pleased to be able to let you know that Lanes Coaches are planning to take over services 487, 836, 838 and 849 from January. The 836 and 838 will be combined into one route as it appears that they are not carrying as many children as we were first advised. HCC are awaiting timetables and route descriptions but are reasonably confident that the majority of the St Clement Danes children will be catered for.”
