An author and professor of cardiovascular research from Chalfont St Peter has published a comprehensive book on exercise.
David Brodie is emeritus professor of cardiovascular health at Buckinghamshire New University as well as the author of several novels and children’s books.
His new book, Exercise: A Scientific and Clinical Overview, was written in collaboration with retired GP Dr Hugh Bethell.
David says he felt compelled to provide some clarity amidst the wealth of information on exercise.
He said: “There is so much information out there that I wanted to create a comprehensive guide which could be a go-to.
“A great range of people can benefit from exercise. Exercise not only reduces the prospect of diseases, but can also help to ameliorate them post-diagnosis.
“We need to make an effort to reduce the period of frailty in old age – keeping active for longer substantially curtails that period.”
The book is available from Amazon.
