Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in St Albans.
Police were called to Coopers Green Lane at around 12.25pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 21) after a grey Volkswagen Golf collided with a tree.
Officers attended, along with colleagues from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and The East of England Ambulance Service.
A man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Coopers Green Lane was closed at the junction with Sandpit Lane and Woodcock Hill to allow for emergency services to attend the scene.
Sergeant Alex Ward said: “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling on Coopers Green Lane around the time of this incident and witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicle travelling in the area prior to it, to please contact me.
“I would like to request any dashcam footage that people may have which could support our investigation.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank motorists for their patience while the road closure was in place.”
