Six young martial artists took home medals after competing for Team GB in a World Martial Arts competition.
As reported in NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews last month, Joseph, Rayaan, Sebastian, Hamza, Skyler and Max travelled to Oslo for the prestigious tournament. They train at the SIMAC school of Mind Body and Spirit, located in Hayes with branches in Hillingdon.
The six athletes won an impressive eight silver medals, four bronze medals and three belts between them, which called for a huge celebration from their family and friends who came to support them.
The atmosphere was described as “nothing short of electrifying”.
Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, a spokesperson for SIMAC said: “The camaraderie among the competitors and the support from their coaches and families created an inspiring environment.
“It’s a testament to their hard work and dedication. It’s an exciting time for them, and they are motivated to continue their journey in martial arts.”
In July 2026, the team will represent Team GB alongside their fellow students at the European Championships in Germany.
Max’s father Danny said: “They represented their country with pride and did us all proud.”
