Police are appealing for information as detectives investigate a serious assault in Watford.

It is reported that on Watford Field Road between 7pm and 8pm on Saturday, February 22, a 13-year-old boy was reportedly assaulted with a weapon, causing serious injuries.

Detective Sergeant Vicky Sexton, of Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We understand that news of this assault will be unsettling for the community given the young age of the victim, who we are continuing to support.

“As part of our investigation, we have explored several lines of enquiry into this incident since it occurred.

“We’re now appealing to the public to think back as to whether they were in the area that day – either on foot or in a vehicle – and witnessed any suspicious activity. If you have any information or dashcam footage that you believe could assist our investigation, please get in touch.”
