Councillors and residents are continuing to campaign against plans for 280 homes on green belt land near Harts Farm, off Little Bushey Lane.
Hertsmere Borough Council’s (HBC) decision to refuse Redrow’s original bid for 350 homes was upheld by the Planning Inspector and High Court. However, Redrow recently submitted a second application.
Bushey Lib Dem councillor Chris Shenton said: “The local community is overwhelmingly opposed to the development of Harts Farm, but Redrow simply won’t take no for an answer. We will fight to protect this crucial green belt site.”
Andy Williams, from the Little Bushey Community campaign group, commented: “This predatory new application is just as bad as the first. If it gets approval, the impact on Bushey’s infrastructure and transport volumes will prove horrific.”
John Mann, managing director at Redrow, said: “Our vision is to deliver much-needed new homes to the area and create valuable job opportunities, while making a substantial investment in local facilities that will benefit the entire community.”
