The future Cole Palmers and Jude Bellinghams of Croxley recently came together for the EFL Utilita U11 Kids Cup.
The cup is a national tournament which offers children the opportunity to play at Wembley Stadium.
The team from Yorke Mead Primary School are now one step closer to making this dream a reality.
On Tuesday, January 21, they joined a number of other teams at the Kids Cup, held by Watford FC.
In a nail-biting stand-off, the boys scored a last-minute penalty to win 3-2 before being crowned as the champions with a 2-1 win in the final.
As winners of the tournament, the school team will now get to represent The Watford FC Trust in the Southern Area Tournament later this year.
Speaking to CROXLEYnews, PE and sports co-ordinator Luke Furlong said: “We have been attending this event for the last nine years and prior to last week, Yorke Mead had never made it past the group stage, but these boys were sensational and went on to win the entire tournament.”
