A teenager from Bushey is celebrating after reaching the semi-finals of a national pageant.

Siaan Patel, who attends Queens School in Bushey, has earned a place in the semi-final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain.

She saw off competition from thousands of applicants with organisers describing it as a platform to celebrate teenagers, their achievements and their goals.

To reach the semi-finals, Siaan had to answer questions about why she was applying, what’s she would do if she won the crown of Miss Teen Great Britain as well as submitting pictures of herself.

The competition attracts thousands of applicants with the grand final set to be held at The Globe, Blackpool, in 2020.

Delighted with her success, Siaan told My Bushey News: “I am so excited to have made the semi-finals, it is a great achievement.

“It has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and has boosted my self-confidence.

“Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and win the Miss Junior Great Britain Crown.”

Siaan’s family are also overwhelmed with her success. Her mother, Alpa, told MyBusheyNews: “I feel very proud of Siaan’s achievement, we are now working hard raise money for charity and use this opportunity to help people in need.

“I always try and offer guidance and support as well as build her confidence as she has always been shy.”
