A family is turning grief into a call for change following the fatal stabbing of Jeyanthan Ramachanthran, known as Jey.
Jey was killed during an incident at Vu Lounge in Bushey on Saturday, November 29, sending ripples of sadness through the community.
His family launched a petition calling for tougher sentences for knife crime, determined to ensure his life defines his legacy.
His wife, Thinuba Singam, shared a tribute: “To me, he was my best friend, my home, my safe place. To our family, he was the heart that held us together. To everyone who knew him, he was warmth, humility, and goodness in human form.”
The petition calls for mandatory whole life orders for knife murders.
Thinuba explained: “Justice for my husband means ensuring the person who took his life can never harm another innocent person or destroy another family again.”
She added: “Please help ensure Jey’s legacy is not defined by how he died, but by the justice and change created in his name.”
The petition is available on https://shorturl.at/uidGX and continues to receive support.
