After a litter pick with her grandad revealed an excessive amount of dog waste being left in the bushes, schoolgirl Daisy’s bid to get a special bin installed has paid off.
11-year-old Daisy, who is also Head Girl at the Russell School, discovered no less than 30 dog bags in the hedges on Green Street when doing a community clean-up last summer.
Upon realising there was no bin for dog walkers to put their pets’ waste inside, she wrote to county and district councillor Phil Williams about the matter.
Though he replied, thanking Daisy for the letter but stating that while would try, requests like this can take a while, the bin has now been installed on Green Street just past the junction with Orchard Drive.
Daisy now hopes dog walkers will use the bin and contribute to a cleaner Chorleywood.
