The people of Abbots Langley came to celebrate the official opening of the £60,000 revamp of School Mead. Watford Community Housing Trust worked alongside Hillside Residents Association to install a sheltered space, a flower meadow, a children’s story circle and new foot paths. Euan Barr, Head of New Business at Watford Community Housing Trust, said: “We are really proud of the work we’ve done with the Residents’ Association to transform the green. By working together we have made it into a space that can be enjoyed by the whole community.” Joe Dumont from the Trust told My Abbots News that following the recent vandalism of the canopy, this was the final repair as it cost too much to repair. He added: “It’s down the community to look after it and ensure the areas kept nice so everybody can enjoy it.” Find out more in this month’s edition of My Abbots News.
