Police officers from Belmont and Stanmore headed to Rectory Close in Finchley on Monday, October 7.
Their visit included a drop-in session at a local care home to raise awareness of scams among residents.
In a post on Instagram on Thursday, October 10, Harrow Police said: “[Officers] received a positive response and plan to engage frequently with drop-in sessions to provide safety advice and help residents stay scam-free.”
Office for National Statistics data released on Thursday, October 24, revealed that fraud offences across England and Wales between June 2023 and June 2024 were up seven per cent when compared to the period from June 2022 to June 2023.
Harrow Police were busy over the course of October, with officers from Edgware, Centenary and Kenton West Neighbourhood Teams out and about engaging with the community in regards to personal safety, according to an Instagram post on Wednesday, October 30.
No issues were raised at the time, something Harrow Police described on Instagram as a “positive result”.
