Hundreds of Santas could be seen running through the streets of Pinner as a much-loved community event returned earlier this month.
The renowned Santa Dash, a 5km sponsored fun run or walk around Pinner, took place on Sunday, December 11. Hundreds of residents dressed up in their finest Santa costumes to take part in the circular run, which started and finished at Nower Hill High School.
George Nagle, the school’s assistant headteacher, said: “The Santa Dash is always a fun-filled festive event fuelled by real Christmas spirit. Seeing more than 300 Santas in their splendid red suits and white beards (accompanied by pet dogs wearing tinsel) is a great way to start the Christmas celebrations.”
The funds raised will go to St Luke’s Hospice, with last year’s event raising £21,000.
A spokesperson for the hospice said: “All the money raised will go directly to patient care, funding our core, central services and paying for the nurses, doctors and equipment needed for those at the end of their lives.”
