A bowls club for the partially sighted and blind have been given a charitable donation organised by a Chorleywood care home.
Chorleywood Beaumont and the Barchester Charitable Foundation have donated £1,556 to The Chesham & District Community Association, based at the White Hill Centre in Chesham, to help them purchase more bowls mats.
Samantha O’Neal, Chorleywood Beaumont’s customer relations manager, visited the centre to play bowls with the club members and try out the new mats.
She said: “It was lovely to see the mats in play and how they help those who are blind or partially sighted. Thank you to Mary and the groups for letting me have a go, it was great fun.
“We are delighted that the grant will make a big difference to the group. I would highly recommend for people to join, even if you are new to bowls like me. They are a very friendly and welcoming group.”
Nigel Brand, chair at the White Hill Centre, said: “Thank you to the Barchester Charitable Foundation and Chorleywood Beaumont for the grant; it will make such a difference!”
