A much-loved local lollipop lady has been given a community award for her tireless efforts to help children in Kings Langley.
Elizabeth Lewis, better known to those around her as Lee, has been a long-time member of the Kings Langley Primary School community. She takes time out of her day every morning and afternoon to help those walking to school cross the road safely amidst the rush hour traffic.
Now, having been nominated by parish councillor Alan Anderson, Lee has won a Kings Langley Community Award 2024.
A spokesperson for the awards said: “Lee is out in all weathers and carries out her role with a smile and charm that warms everybody she meets.”
Active and Safer Travel Hertfordshire also congratulated Lee on her win with a post on social media saying: “Lee has been awarded for her valuable contribution to the community. A huge congratulations to you, Lee, thank you for all your hard work in keeping our families safe.”
