The Pinner Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have been cracking down on shoplifting.
Officers carried out a targeted operation to tackle shoplifting in hotspot locations across Pinner.
During the operation, PCSO Chibou identified a known shoplifter carrying a large quantity of food items. When challenged, the individual attempted to flee, but he was safely detained.
Enquiries with a local store confirmed that he had stolen items on three occasions in the past week.
He was arrested and taken into custody for multiple counts of shoplifting.
In another incident, officers responded swiftly to a report of shoplifting from Lidl. A male and female were stopped as they attempted to leave the store.
The female was found with over £200 worth of cosmetics stolen from Boots earlier that day. Further checks revealed she was also wanted for failing to attend court for a commercial burglary in Harrow.
Metropolitan Police Sergeant for Pinner, Pinner South and North Harrow Rebecca Bridges said: “We thank the community for their support and encourage everyone to report suspicious activity.”
