Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, visited a charity founded by a Bushey woman on November 24.
The princess was at a Sebby’s Corner centre in Barnet to kickstart an initiative from The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to provide support to families with young children in the run up to Christmas.
Bushey’s Bianca Sakol MBE, who launched the charity in 2021, was delighted with the opportunity to show Her Royal Highness around and highlight the crucial work they do to get items to families, including clothing, nappies, toiletries, and baby equipment.
After the visit, Bianca said: “I was honoured to have been asked to host her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales at Sebby’s Corner and to showcase the work we do as an essential service for families in need. Living in poverty can make it harder to provide the essentials, the experiences, and opportunities that children need to develop and thrive.”
Speaking on the stress Christmas can bring to some families, Bianca added: “We [were] delighted the Princess was able to help us prepare for the hundreds of families we will supporting this festive season.”
