Her Royal Highness (HRH) Princess Michael of Kent visited Peace Hospice Care in Watford today (Thursday, September 23) as part of their 30th-anniversary celebrations.
HRH Princess Michael, who is Royal President of the Peace Hospice, was given a guided tour of the hospice, spoke to members of staff and volunteers and unveiled the recently refurbished inpatient unit garden.
HRH Princess Michael was impressed with the new garden facilities and spent time speaking with garden volunteers who lead the project. The event was also attended by Watford legend Luther Blissett and Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor.
The inpatient unit has been majorly upgraded with a brand new water feature, plants, flowers and statues and a brand new fence which provides more privacy around the garden.
Darran Major, Plant Area Manager at Burston Garden Centre generously donated £1,500 worth of plants to the garden and drew up a detailed plan to help volunteers transform the garden space into a peaceful haven.
