Drones have surrounded Watford town centre this morning and several roads have been closed due to a “concern for welfare”.
Emergency services are responding to a concern for welfare at Flanders Court near Watford town centre, with several roads closed.
Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called to St Albans Road on Wednesday morning. Hertfordshire Police said officers were responding to a “concern for welfare” and urged motorists to avoid the area.
Road closures are in place on St Albans Road, Beechen Grove and Essex Road. Police warned the closures may not yet appear on satellite navigation or traffic apps and advised drivers to use alternative routes.
Witnesses reported seeing a large emergency services presence outside Flanders Court, as well as drones operating above the scene.
The nature of the incident has not been confirmed and no further details have been released.
