A road near Abbots Langley Primary School is set to be upgraded with safety improvements.
Bedmond Road will be improved this summer after residents raised concerns about dangerous parking by Dairy Way, particularly during school pick-up and drop-off times, and issues with the overgrown footpath.
Abbots Langley county councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst has now allocated what remains of his Highways Locality Budget (HLB) to replace the missing bollards by the substation, with the aim of stopping parking on the green area. New bollards will be installed from the junction of Dairy Way, and the existing bollards towards Tibbs Hill Road will be upgraded with reflective strips.
Vegetation will also be cut back outside the school and Tithe Barn Court.
Cllr Giles-Medhurst said: “Following a site meeting with county officers, I have now agreed a programme of works funded from what is left in my limited HLB I inherited on becoming the county councillor in May.
“I have also asked for a new Bedmond Road nameplate as well, and next year I hope to get the footway from Dairy Way to the cottages resurfaced.”
