The community has raised funds for a memorial tree plaque in honour of a much-loved Chorleywood salon owner.
Pallavi Bakarani, who owned The Aarna Blush and Brow salon on Lower Road, passed away in June.
Pallavi touched the lives of many, as evidenced by the swarm of messages local residents left on the window of her now dormant salon.
Since then, a fundraising page has also been set up to raise money for a plaque in Pallavi’s honour on the memorial tree on Chorleywood Common. The page quickly exceed its £324 target and raised £565, with any extra funds being donated to Watford Women’s Centre.
Simone Tyson, who set up the fundraising page, said: “We have sadly lost a beautiful, talented, kind, thoughtful, strong, brave and caring soul from our community. She positively impacted the lives of so many and she will be missed hugely.
“We want to pay tribute to her and remember her with a memorial plaque in Chorleywood so that, while she may not longer be with us, she will never be forgotten.”
It has not yet been confirmed when the plaque will be installed.
