RESIGNATION: Alex Michaels steps down from Abbots Langley Parish Council

Published on: 30th August 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Three Rivers District Councillor Alex Michaels has resigned from the parish council to spend more time with his family.

The Primrose Hill councillor was elected to the parish in 2015 and was later chosen as chairman a year later.

Speaking exclusively to AbbotsNewsAlex said he will be continuing to serve Abbots Langley with Three Rivers.

He said: “I want to spend more time with family, I have two young kids aged two and four. I will be continuing with Three Rivers and I will continue to listen to residents and put their interests first.”

As his time as chairman, the Liberal Democrat councillor raised one of the highest amounts at the time for the chairman’s chosen charity – which he picked the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

If there is an election to fill the seat, it will take place no later than October 15.

Standing for two different authorities is ridiculous. You can’t possibly do a good job for both.
