Local Watford Mencap support workers, Chloe Piercy, Neil Palmer and Thulashie Manivannan are getting into the festive spirit early this year in preparation for Watford’s first Santa Dash. The 5km Dash will take place at 10.30 am on Sunday, December 4 in Cassiobury Park. Runners are invited to dress up as their favourite Christmas character and prizes donated by Warner Brothers Studios Leavesden will be awarded to the best dressed in each race as well as the fastest runners. Neil said: “The Santa Dash will be great fun for all the family – there’s going to be a Santa’s Grotto, mince pies and carol singing so we will all be full of Christmas spirit by the time we finish the race. “I’m trying to decide what to wear for the Santa Dash – at the moment I’m favouring a Santa onesie but I may well change my mind by December.” Proceeds from the Santa Dash race will be used to help fund Watford Mencap’s children’s centre which supports families with a child or young person that has a learning disability. Hear more about what’s happening in your local community in the November edition of MyWatfordNews, which will be distributed on November 11.
