Stanmore Choral Society (SCS) will hark back to Stanmore and Edgware’s cultural heritage at a concert in April.
In December’s STANMORE&EDGWAREnews, we spoke to Frances Goldingay, chair of the SCS committee, about the society’s Carol Concert. Now, the society has plans to perform at St Lawrence’s Church in Edgware to pay tribute to its heritage.
Handel’s ‘O come let us sing unto the Lord’ was first heard at the church and will be heard again when SCS take to the stage. They will also perform Pepusch’s work which originated from the church.
Described by Frances as a “really exciting” event, more of Handel’s work will be sung at the concert, including the Hallelujah Chorus. The performance will also feature a small string ensemble and a “fantastic” tenor soloist.
The performance will take place at 7pm on Saturday, April 5. To find out more or book tickets, email enquiries@stanmore-choral.org.uk
