READ ON: Rickmansworth library gears up for a series of events in summer and autumn

Published on: 27th July 2022   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Several interesting and fun events will be coming up well into October for people visiting the Rickmansworth library.

First of all is the ongoing Summer Reading Challenge, where all local children of any age are challenged to read six library books of any kind, bring them back and tell staff all about it. To get started, children can collect a starter pack from the library.

Every child who completes the challenge by September 3 will receive a special medal, pencil and certificate.

On Tuesday, August 23, from 10:30am to 11:30am, there will be a special ‘Jack in the Beanstalk’ puppet show for kids to enjoy. Tickets cost just £1 and are also available to collect from the library.

From 11am to 4pm on Sunday, September 25, the library will be taking part in ‘The Great Big Green Week in the Library’. This is being organised by Three Rivers District Council, who are using the event to focus on sustainability through clothes repairs and recycling. This will also tie in with the Sunday market in the High Street.

Then, just in time for Halloween, on Thursday, October 27, from 2pm to 4pm the library will be working with Three Rivers Museum to host the ‘Family Funtacular’ event, which will include crafting tables and a ghost hunt.

If you are interested in finding out more about what the library has got going on, visit their Facebook page.
