A long-time member of the Rotary Club of Radlett (RCR) is encouraging others to join for the chance to “do good for the local community”.
David Rose, RCR member and husband of the club’s president Kathy Rose, said: “I’m not a religious person, but the Rotary gives me an important opportunity to meet regularly and do a bit of good with other community-minded people.”
RCR donates funds to a number of local causes and organisations, including Borehamwood Foodbank and Radlett Lodge School. This year, RCR is additionally fundraising for Kathy’s chosen cause, the Brain Tumour Charity.
In past weeks, RCR has organised a number of events, including the Rotary Santa Sleigh, and also arranged for shoeboxes filled with essential items to be sent to Eastern Europe.
Looking ahead, RCR is preparing for the annual May Day fun run at Tabard Rugby Club on May 6.
Kathy encourages prospective new members to come along to one of RCR’s weekly sessions at Aldenham Social Club between 1pm and 2.30pm on a Monday for a complimentary meal and the chance to hear the guest speaker of the week.
