A pair of best friends recently took on a mile-long swim to raise money for Pumpkin’s Wildlife Hospital in Rickmansworth.
According to their JustGiving page, Elizabeth Ventre and Isabella Mirza are “committed to making a difference” by “speaking up for the animals who cannot speak for themselves”. The duo trained hard for their swimming challenge and asked family and friends to show their support by donating funds towards their local wildlife hospital.
At the time of writing, the 10 year olds have raised £1,140 for the hospital, a non-profit organisation that rescues, rehabilitates and releases injured animals back into the wild.
According to Elizabeth’s mother, Georgina Finegan, both admirably finished their 64 lengths on Tuesday, April 16, leaving them “puffed out but happy”.
Outside of swimming, Elizabeth and Isabella enjoy wildlife walks, foraging and, of course, looking after animals.
